Sheep's Crossing/Verde River Field Trip Report
An NAAS field trip to Sheep's Crossing at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River took place on February 3. Organized by Dena Greenwood and led by Julie Wills, twelve birders (incl. 4 from Flagstaff & 2 from Tennessee) saw 30 species. Best bird of the day was a group of 3-4 Lawrence's Goldfinch. Best mammal of the day were 2-3 River Otter at their riverbank den. Best (and only) reptile was a Western Ground Snake.
