Sage Thrashers @ Kachina Wetlands
Glo & I saw 2 Sage Thrashers at the wetlands this morning, around some large boulders between the west ends of the two wettest ponds. Ebird has only one previous thrasher sighting there (2001?), but the bird is listed on the checklist at the entrance.
Not much else there (deepest pond was entirely frozen; some open water in the shallower pond): a shoveler, a few mallards, and some flyover Canada Geese.
The small pond near the entrance to Kachina Village (visible from I-40) was full of ducks, including 2 Cinnamon Teal drakes, 6 Green-wing Teal, Ring-necked Ducks, Redhead, Pintail, Gadwall, Am. Wigeon, Mallard, with dozens of geese grazing in the background.
