Red Crossbill Invasion
Has anyone else been seeing lots of Red Crossbills? For about the last week or so I've had lots of them. I see Crossbills everyday, three or more times a day (that's just when I'm home). The bird bath and pond seem to be hot spots for them. I had what a appeared to be a whole family of them today - a pair of adults and four youngsters. I attached some pictures. Also attached a couple of pictures of the male Yellow Shafted Flicker and a male Red Shafted Flicker. It appears the Yellow Shafted is going to stick around for the summer as he's been coming in with a Red Shafted female. - Pam
