North Rim birds
I spent Friday and Saturday (6-7 June 2014) on the North Rim. It wasn't really a birding trip, but I did see some nice birds.

At Castle Spring (a mile or two from Big Springs), there were 3 MacGillivray's Warblers, a Green-tailed Towhee, and a Cordilleran Flycatcher. All three nest on the Kaibab, but the area is rarely birded.

We spent the night out at Cape Final, where we had a Zone-tailed Hawk circling nearby for at least a half hour. On the walk back to the car on Saturday morning we heard a Northern Pygmy-Owl.
