Muscovy Duck at Walnut Canyon Lakes
I found 2 domestic Muscovy Ducks at Walnut Canyon Lakes this afternoon. How they got there I couldn't say, but it's the first time I've ever seen this species there.

There are feral populations in places like Florida and are actually countable there as far as I know. Probably not here in Arizona, but I would like feedback on it. The fact that they were standing next to humans waiting to be fed is telling. :O

RE: Muscovy Duck at Walnut Canyon Lakes
I saw these at Walnut Canyon Lakes on Wednesday morning (7/6) when I took the kids for a bike ride there. My daughter was chased and hissed at by a Muscovy when she was 2, back when we lived in SW Florida. Muscovy Ducks are everywhere there, and after her experience she has always hated them. She was the one who spotted them first and pointed them out to me. She debated trying to mow them down on her bike...(I made her be nice.)

I figured they must have always been around, and that I had just failed to notice them. I didn't realized they were new arrivals. Have Muscovy Ducks been seen at other ponds in Flagstaff? Are they dumped pets?
