East of Flagstaff: Vermilion Flycatcher, etc
Chuck LaRue and I hit some of the hotspots east of Flagstaff along I-40 this morning. The highlight was this young female Vermilion Flycatcher, which is a remarkably rare bird in Coconino County. I'm glad Chuck pointed the bird out to me...I might have walked right past it:

Additional flycatcher diversity was pretty good, and included this Willow:

...a Hammonds:

and a couple Dusky:

There were not many warblers around, but this MacGillivray's was unusually confiding:

Another highlight was a rather large group of meadowlarks at Babbit Tank - out of maybe a dozen birds, about eight appeared to be of the Eastern 'Lilian's' variety.
