Yellow-shafted flicker and American Robin extravaganza at Turkey Tanks
I planned to spend a few minutes at Turkey Tanks off of Leupp Road to see if anything was coming to the water. I ended up sitting in one spot for about two hours watching incredible numbers of robins, along with plenty of Townsend's Solitaires. They would gather in the trees on the rim above the tank then gradually make their way down to the water. Then a Sharp-shinned Hawk came barreling through and they all took off. Over the next hour they repeated this and then a Cooper's Hawk came barreling through.
Lots of Northern Flickers including a Yellow-shafted or intergrade (terrible photo attached).
Also saw a Merlin, Cedar Waxwing, Song Sparrow, etc.
