Hooded Mergansers - Walnut Canyon Ponds
At 11:30 am this morning, 18 Nov, there were eight Hooded Mergansers including a brilliant male at the "first" Walnut Canyon Road pond in east Flagstaff. This is the most individuals I have seen together in the Flagstaff area. Common Mergansers, American Wigeons, Bufflehead and a continuing Western Grebe were with the other ducks and Canada Geese at the ponds.
