goose variety at Walnut Canyon, Flag.
Late Sat afternoon, after many of the geese had come into rest, I located one Cackling Goose (standing among the larger geese), and probably a Richardson's. The ponds are a good place to try to sort out the different subspecies or species.

Two Snow Geese, 6 Greater white-fronted geese and a cackling goose I think. All on the driving range this morning.

The 2 Snow Geese, 6 White-fronted Geese, oodles of Canada Geese, and at least 1 Cackling Goose were still present on the driving range at about 9:30 this morning. Also, there was 1 adult California Gull. There was a second small goose that I did not get a good look at that could have been a second Cackler. All the geese were departing in groups to other parts of the golf course as I watched.

I stopped by the driving range and Walnut Canyon Lakes around 11:30 but did not see the snows or white-fronted geese. I only saw 2 Canada geese at the lakes.

I would recommend visiting the driving range early, it's always loaded with geese before the golfers arrive. It was nice seeing a Cackling Goose on the golf course again, it's been a long time.

I saw a single Snow Goose along with several dozen Canada Geese on Humphreys Lake around 11:35 today.

I arrived earlier today at around 8:30 as was recommended and saw the cackling goose and 6 white-fronted geese. The snows must have been off doing other snow goose stuff.
