Lake Montezuma sightings at dusk
I was out just before dusk tonight Saturday February 24th and decided to take a look at the turkey vulture roosting tree which sometimes has several dozen turkey vultures. There was just one.
The pond on the right as you go up the hill just past 3rd Fairway Drive on Montezuma Lake Road has a couple of great blue herons nesting. The big tree across from 3965 East Sycamore fell down a couple months back. It formerly had up to three nests.
Going by the lake in the almost dark I saw a Hooded Merganser and a pintail duck.
The Egyptian Geese are still there though they don't seem to be increasing in number after about four years.
Please excuse the crappy capitalization. I'm speaking to the phone and don't know how to capitalize by voice. I guess I'll Google it.
