Canada goose and Ash-throated Fly
ATFL arrived in my yard this morning.

Of perhaps greater interest, I have noted a pair of Canada Goose flying noisily around the upper Verde. Feel free to correct me, but this seems really late to be north-bound. What is the current southerly breeding limit in AZ?

Uh oh.  You will likely be extending the southern limit of the breeding range of Canada Goose in a couple of years.  In Flagstaff, Canada Geese formerly were all gone by mid-March.  Starting about 10 years ago a few remained in the golf course area in East Flag for the summer.  More joined them in subsequent years and they soon started nesting.  They are now quite prevalent at many of the area lakes as well as the Kachina Wetlands.  This has been a familiar story in the last couple of decades throughout the country.

They are a regular breeder in the Phoenix area with the first breeding record coming from 1992.
