Meteor Crater RV Park - May 2018
I made my first trip to Meteor Crater RV Park this spring to see what today's (2 May) storm dropped in.  There were a handful of migrants including Orange-crowned, Nashville, Yellow, and Black-throated Gray warblers along with a plethora of Yellow-rumps.  Cassin's Kingbird, and three Green-tailed Towhees were also seen.  I was surprised there were no Empidonax.  The biggest surprise of the morning was a Bendire's Thrasher, a quite local species in Northern Arizona and a bird that is rarely seen as a migrant.  It sang a few times and I managed to get some recordings.  As always, be sure and stop in the office and check with the pleasant staff before entering the RV park.
