The Mountain Chickadees again nested in the cowboy boot birdhouse that my brother-in-law made for me years ago. This is about the 5th year now.

This morning, over the period of about 30 minutes, my wife & I watched as 6 baby Mountain Chickadees successfully left the nest for the first (and I assume, last) time and joined their parents in a nearby pine tree!

I had to laugh as the one with its wings open was deciding whether or not to take off...just before he did, he
pooped on the railing and immediately took off to join his parents!

Their first major hurdle to survival was done.

RE: Success!
Great photos. A pair of Western Bluebirds has nested in our yard the past three or four years. I just saw one of the young poking it's head out of the nest box yesterday.
