Rare birds in Arizona
Arizona birders,

2018 has been another great year for birding in Arizona so far, and on behalf of the Arizona Bird Committee, I’d like to thank everyone who has submitted documentation of review species and potential first state records! There are a few reports that haven’t yet been submitted, however, or for which more documentation would be appreciated. The following is an incomplete list of unsubmitted or partially documented reports from the past several months – if you’ve observed any ABC review species (http://abc.azfo.org/lists/review_list.html) recently, or even have an old report that was never reviewed, please send it our way! Different options for reporting can be found at http://abc.azfo.org/info/default.html

Buff-collared Nightjar: Documentation with specific locations from Brown Canyon would be appreciated, as well as observations of more than two birds *and especially the active nest* from California Gulch/Warsaw Canyon

Lesser Black-backed Gull from Lake Mead

Nutting’s Flycatcher from California Gulch

Tufted Flycatcher from Ramsey Canyon in 2018

Rose-throated Becard: Any and all documentation, including documentation of the three pairs’ locations as well as photos or other documentation of the number of nestlings/fledglings from each nest would be greatly appreciated!

Red-eyed Vireo: Any documentation of the multiple reports this fall

Blackpoll Warbler from Luna Lake

Blackburnian Warbler from Gilbert Water Ranch

Flame-colored Tanager at Ramsey Canyon – any documentation after early to mid-August?

Thanks again for your part in documenting Arizona’s rare avifauna!

RE: Rare birds in Arizona
Hi - I'm wondering if anyone reported the Blue-footed Booby that was seen at Lake Powell in late Sept?
I did not see it, but others did and some got photos.

RE: Rare birds in Arizona
Do you know if anyone ever saw it in Arizona? As far as I knew, it was only ever seen in Utah.

Thanks!
Lauren
