Interesting Northern Flicker intergrade
On a hike in Tappan Spring Wash, just west of Cameron I ran across an interesting Northern Flicker intergrade. The bird had yellow wings and tail feathers, but plumage was otherwise suggestive of "red-shafted" Northern Flicker. Specifically, the bird lacks the red crescent on the nape that either sex of "yellow-shafted" flicker would have, and has a face pattern more similar to "red-shafted". It's interesting to me that this particular intergrade combination looks startlingly like a Gilded Flicker!

Also in the canyon was a Wilson's Snipe, which seemed a bit out of place, and a rare-in-winter House Wren.
