Flowering trees at MCRVP
If anyone is looking to kill some time, the large flowering trees at the south end of the Meteor Crater RV Park are in full bloom right now and are pulling in good numbers of Tanagers, Orioles and Grosbeaks. On Sunday, I found spectacular male Summer, Hepatic and Western Tanagers. And on Thursday of last week I had an uncooperative female Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Warblers don't seem to be present at MCRVP in any good numbers, but it only takes one oddball to make a trip worthwhile.
